Well... last blog post for this book. I've now finished Tony Hawk's autobiography. It was a very good book. This week was about his experience doing the 900. Here's how he felt after a missed trick: "That night I couldn't sleep. I was furious that I hadn't landed the stupid trick, and my shoulder and chest killed with each breath. The next day I felt worse, so I went to the doctor. He took some X rays and told me that I'd fractured a rib" (238). This was back in 1996. I'm honestly wondering how he could possibly get back up and still be able to skateboard the way he does. After a huge fall like that I find it very unlikely that one could ever recover and still be alive to skateboard again. I guess this is what passion does to you. If there's anything for me to learn from this, it's that if you're truly passionate about something, you'll do everything in your power to get back up and do it again, better if not like before. I've honestly not felt that passionate about anything, so I don't really don't know what it's like to fall so hard and try to get back up again, but still, I think one day, everyone will have something they're really passionate about, for example: dancing (sorry I couldn't make it to the show, girls). I'm really hoping that one day there really is something for me and I'm not just walking this path to an eternally empty road.
